Are you concerned about bird flu?

Many have asked if the avian flu can affect humans while eating chicken. Simply stated...NO.

Humans are unlikely to get sick from eating chicken that has been properly prepared and cooked.  Avoid eating undercooked or uncooked poultry. Always cook chicken to the appropriate internal temperature of 165F degrees.

Unlike industrial chicken farms that are cramped and overproduced in dark buildings that do not provide sunlight or fresh air and feed, pasture-raised poultry has the benefit of natural sunlight. How is this a benefit? The avian flu is killed by ultraviolet light, aka Sunlight!

Pasture-raised poultry are healthier and less susceptible because the birds benefit from moving to fresh, clean pastures every day, and they are housed in chicken tractors to keep predators and wild birds away while still having the benefit of fresh air and sunlight. So, if you have wondered about the safety of chicken lately, you can stop wondering. Go ahead and eat those chicken wings, enjoy your next barbeque, and don’t forget to make a wish when you break the wishbone!
